When crowds relate, music connects.
SACHI cling to this truth like “the golden rule.” The New Zealand duo—Nick Chrisp and Will Thomas— transform their every day, real life experiences into a vibrant, dazzling electronic-pop party. As a result, uncompromising creativity, unrestricted energy and an infectious spirit define the pair and translate right back to their audience - as evidenced by one sold out show after another and over 30 million streams in 2020.
“I feel like the golden rule of music is people like songs they can relate to,” affirms Will. “If you’re writing about yourself and what you actually do, listeners put the subject matter into the perspective of their own lives. We commit to it.”
“You can hear our heart in everything we do,” agrees Nick.
This heart beats louder year after year. It started when Diplo visited New Zealand on tour in 2015. SACHI stalked his Snapchat, found his location, and slipped a USB drive through the window of the SUV carrying the star. Serendipitously, he gave it a spin and played “No More” and “Hold On” on Diplo & Friends, offering an invaluable co-sign. In the aftermath, SACHI exploded as a homegrown phenomenon, achieving two chart-topping gold singles—“No More” and “Shelter.” Along the way, they also ignited stages alongside everyone from A$AP Ferg to Alison Wonderland and received coveted co-signs from Diplo, Zane Lowe, Complex, Hillydilly, MTV, and more. Not to mention, fellow NZ superstar Lorde signed off their remix of her multi-platinum smash “Green Light” with Montell2099. Signed to Casablanca/Republic Records, they made a splash stateside with last years Nights With Ruby EP, including hit singles “Worst Behaviour” [feat. SamDeRosa], and ‘Sparking My Fire’ [Featuring ROE], the EP amassing over 25 million streams.
As one of the only countries in the world to welcome back live shows following the pandemic induced music industry pause, New Zealand electronic duo SACHI reestablish their rightful place on the dancefloor with their new single, ‘You (à la)’.
Written and produced over the lockdown period, ‘You (à la)’ sees SACHI approach collaboration as a newfound individual process. Formed via email sessions from their respective bedrooms, ‘You (à la)’ was written with Swedish singer Hilda, Shy Martin, and Anton Rundberg; redefining the act of collaboration in true 2020 style.
Establishing themselves in North America for the first time in 2018, the duo began recording intermittently in Los Angeles before moving to the land of opportunity to live for six months in 2019 and tour with LA locals Phantoms. The sessions eventually became the flaming, appropriately dubbed, Nights with Ruby EP, a project brimming with buzzing, electronic evening energy.
“It’s all about energy,” continues Will. “We’re not shying away from who we are and what we do.”
Off the back of a hectic Summer festival run, SACHI took the stage on coveted lineups including Rhythm & Vines, Northern Bass, SoundSplash, Six60 Saturday’s and many more. Coming from a band background, Will and Nick inject elements of a live band setting into their own exhilarating live show. Their dynamic chemistry see’s SACHI swapping instruments, as well as playing bass, drums and keys in addition to vocals; forming a non-traditional electronic experience.
SACHI build an unbreakable bond with audiences by simply being themselves. “Ever since we started making music, we wanted to create moments to share with friends,” the boys leave off. “We want to give everyone an uplifting and euphoric experience. Our music paints this picture of different energies coming together as a whole. We want people to connect and have fun with us.” Their latest single ‘You (à la) exudes the contagious confidence that SACHI live by; their biggest objective is to share it with the rest of the world.
Montell2099 is a visionary young production powerhouse based in Auckland, New Zealand. Co-signed by RL Grime, 21 Savage, Mura Masa, What So Not, Alison Wonderland, Mr Carmack, Sango, Charli XCX and Soulection co-founder Joe Kay, Montell2099 is one of the most thrilling new electronic music talents to emerge from New Zealand in recent years. Mixing bubbling VST melodies, manipulated vocal snippets and booming bass hits, his idiosyncratic productions ripple and thud with genre-bending force and dizzying, club-ready dynamics.
His first single, ‘Hunnid on the Drop’ featuring 21 Savage, has received over 6 million streams with support from Pigeons and Planes, XXL, Genius, Complex, Hypebeast, Hot New Hip Hop and many more tastemakers. With a sharp ear for the cutting edge, Montell2099’s mantra is simple – always keep your listener on their toes. With his innovative, shape cutting techniques, the best part about Montell2099’s enigmatic craft is that you’ll never guess his next move.
Last year, EDM lord RL Grime announced Montell as the new addition to his label roster, Sable Valley. Hot on the heels of the new label signing, Montell shares his debut EP FORCES’, a five track cosmic odyssey into the unknown. FORCES is lead by singles ‘STARS’, ‘BURNA’, and standout new collaboration with RL Grime, titled ‘Rusynth.’ Showcasing the stellar musical chemistry between both beatmakers, ‘Rusynth’ embodies a radical forcefield of electronic distortion.
Prior to his first official body of work, the 21-yr old producer released official remixes for Lorde’s ‘Green Light,’ Diplo x Trippie Red’s ‘Wish,’ RL Grime x Jeremih x Tory Lanez ‘Undo,’ Netsky ft. Bazzi and Lil Wayne ‘IDKUA’, Charli XCX x Troye Sivan’s ‘2099’, and was blessed with a remix of his track ‘Hunnid on the Drop’ by Mr Carmack.
Montell spent the majority of 2018 and 2019 on foreign soil, touring in support of RL Grime, Boombox Cartel, Sam Gellaitry, Luca Lush and more. Prior to this he dipped his toes in the water performing at Red Bull’s 30 Days in L.A alongside Charli XCX and Sophie, and in Atlanta with Cut Chemist. To date he has also featured at notorious Brownies and Lemonade shows, EDC Las Vegas, and has just been announced for his biggest show yet - booked for both weekends at Belgium’s Tomorrowland 2020.
Montell2099 has been surrounded by music production equipment since his childhood spent in small town Katikati. When he was fourteen, his grandfather loaded up FL Studio on a computer and dropped him in front of it as a distraction. He never looked back. "I spent my teens locked away making music," Montell2099 laughs. After high school, he had three choices. Stay in Katikati and work at a fruit orchard, move to the nearby town of Hamilton and live with his mother, or head to Auckland, attend an audio engineering course and pursue music. With some encouragement from his grandparents, Montell took the risk of making music top priority.
Within just months of moving to Auckland Montell2099 was offered a radio show on George FM, New Zealand’s #1 Dance and Alternative station, spinning songs that have inspired his own music. Not long after, he found himself performing shows alongside some of those same musical influences, including multiple showcases with infamous LA label Soulection, and direct supports for producers including Kaytranada, Metro Boomin, and Sam Gellaitry. He’s also shared stages at major music festivals Rhythm & Vines and Northern Bass, with the likes of Alison Wonderland, RL Grime, JAUZ, Chance the Rapper, Zhu, Hudson Mohawke, and many more.
In an era where musicians often lean on gimmicks to market their work, Montell’s focus lies in quality. With tens of millions of plays online before the release of his debut project, Montell2099 is connecting on the strength of his music alone. His vision of future electronic is opening up a portal to the next century of EDM - step inside 2099 if you dare.
MELODOWNZ is an Urban Poet / MC / Rapper from West Auckland, New Zealand.
MELODOWNZ is a Polynesian poet hailing from New Zealand. Born Bronson Price, MELODOWNZ was raised in the melting pot community of West Auckland’s Avondale, surrounded by a diverse palette of culture, ethnicity and walks of life, all of which play a role in his second nature for storytelling.
His debut EP Avontales was released in July 2017, the title a play on his humble hometown of Avondale and all the narratives which reside within it. MELODOWNZ reps his roots with a fusion of hip-hop and R&B, infused with neo-soul and elements of G-funk, jazz and reggae. The self professed slipknot of hip hop moulds a duality of raw street hip hop, balanced between conscious raising conviction with a cause.
During his conquering come up, Melo has worked with Grammy nominated and award winning producers, among the likes of DJ Khalil, FNZ, Skhyehutch, Bizness Boi, Beat Boy and more. During the perfect storm, MELODOWNZ has signed to Def Jam ANZ & SNIFFERS Records, after releasing his first single under the new label in December, ‘No Mercy’ featuring Denzel Curry. With his first new music of the new decade, MELODOWNZ latest single ‘Fine’ displays the rappers sustaining growth. The gangster groove is a euphoric anthem that contrasts both rap and R&B sensibilities, as Melo embraces the infectiously carefree attitude that defines his name.
In 2019 MELODOWNZ was the recipient of prestigious kiwi honours, including the Pacific Music Awards prize for “Most Promising Artist”. He has sold out nationwide tours in New Zealand, playing the biggest festivals in his country such as Northern Bass, Rhythm and Vines and Laneway festival. In August 2017 Melo embarked to Europe, where he played two shows in Berlin and a show in London. Whilst overseas he landed a spot on the renowned COLORS Berlin channel, where he showcased a slick performance of ‘$on of a Queen’.
In 2018 Melo took on several respective projects, first joining forces with fellow kiwi musicians, producer IllBaz and rapper Raiza Biza, to release their politically prosed collaborative record High Beams. Following the collaboration, Melo released his second solo EP Melo & Blues, where he showcased his duality complex on the double sided body of work, featuring a guest appearance from prolific UK rapper Coops.
An artist not to be ignored, gaining recognition internationally and quickly becoming a hometown hero in New Zealand, MELODOWNZ is on a mission to share his wisdom with the rest of the world.

CHAII is a Persian-Kiwi rapper/producer. Her music is an eclectic melting pot consisting of traditional Persian music, electronica and hip-hop, all of which she draws influence from to form her heart-pounding sounds. CHAII has been busy, rapidly building a strong following for herself through an intense live set and multiple projects. 2019 is the year she hit the siren, leaving a lasting impact with her maiden single 'Digebasse (Enough)', part one of a three-pronged project titled 'Safar (Journey)', filmed in Oman and projecting from her strong Middle Eastern roots. With a background in film and visual arts, you can feel the synergy between the music and visuals translated in her 'somewhat experimental approach' to it all.
Genre-bending Persian/New Zealand rapper CHAII expresses her diverse creative powers on her debut extended-player Lightswitch-a bold six-track visual EP showcasing sounds and footage from Oman to Joshua Tree. With the release of her debut EP, CHAII is ready to take her place on the world stage and is rapidly making an impression as an exciting new talent to keep an eye on. Despite her sudden arrival, CHAII's music has already attracted the attention of Italian fashion brand FENDI, mixed martial arts organisation UFC and Charlize Theron's new film The Old Guard, out on Netflix. In June, CHAII was announced as the first-ever Spotify RADAR artist in New Zealand.
RADAR is the streaming giant's global emerging-artist platform, which helped launch international stars including Lauv, King Princess, Jorja Smith, G-Eazy and Trippie Redd. Inspiration for the Lightswitch visual EP came from CHAII's journey of learning more about Iran's 1979 Islamic Revolution. The resulting upheaval forced countless creative talents, including musicians, actors and artists, to leave Iran and relocate to California after their work was banned in their homeland. Forty years later, California remains home to the largest Persian music community outside of Iran.At the age of eight, CHAII migrated to New Zealand from Iran. Her first real taste for rap music was through Eminem, who at the time had just released 'The Real Slim Shady'. Quickly growing an interest in his music, she found herself rapping Eminem songs before being able to speak English properly. "Mr Eminem was my English teacher", she recounts. At the age of 11, CHAII started to write her own rhymes to express everything she was feeling, from being confused between cultures to adapting to a new life. In high school, CHAII began to make beats to put to her rhymes. It was then that she realised her strong love for all aspects of music, from producing, writing, recording and mixing.
After years of experimenting and finding her sound, she has just started to release what she calls "the closest music to me and who I am."
